Hi everybody. I am a total newb when it comes to forums and such. I do however have a problem I would like a solution to. The wife had a minor spinout in the rain and hit a bank, front airbags deployed. No real damage but of course the car won't start. Is there any way to get this car running without a SRM reset?

Welcome to the forum.

Its nice to see you made an intro on your own. ;)

This is a new forum layout which is owned by a company 6 months ago that doesn't give a dam with loads of bugs which have been reported in the new thread. There is no TDI Wiki at the moment or original similes. It doesn't show the car spec/location.

We Are Live - Community Feedback

This has been talked about many times.

I've made a poll which no one has posted in, there are a few votes and comments.

Do you like the new forum features?

Wiki pages have been restored as of 7th December, I asked where is the link it should be on top of the main forum.

That isn't an easy question to answer on a forum. How long is a piece of string?

We don't know any history of what has been done or tried.

Won't start or won't crank over?

Does the fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on?

Its a coincidence it won't start after the crash, has the timing belt broken? Remove the top timing belt cover and crank the engine to see.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.

No real damage? Two explosions occurred in the cabin. If you made an insurance claim it would total the car. Did she hit a bank like a grassy knoll or a lending institution? Sorry, I couldn't resist.:)

Well humor is a good thing, however it does nothing to solve the problem of the SRM.

I read the thread and I think I may have found what I was looking for, thanks. Oh, bye the way, as I have been chasing down this problem, my 2004/5 wagon with 360,000k just puked the HPFP.

Let us know which way it went. ECU, I don't think so because it's older. Maybe some check valve between tank and the injectors. Be glad the other car is just the tandem pump and not the injectors.

ECU? I'm old the last car I built was a 77 chevy. If the HPFP came apart wouldn't it make it to the injectors?
