Hey Guys-

TDI has been treating me well, consistently getting 40-42mpg, dips down to 38 with a/c and increased speed.

I was welcomed by a dead battery this morning. Turns out when I got to work the cooling fans run after the car is shut off, hence the dead battery.

I pulled the 40A fuse for now so I can get home (after reinserting the fuse).

Is there a relay that controls the fans via the ECM?

Any other ideas?

Thanks-
John

There is a sensor on the radiator and a fan control module on the fan assembly. I know that my fans also continue to run when I've been using the AC so there is most likely another sensor somewhere else or a timer from the module.

it has fixed itself for now.

If I turn the a/c off before shutting the car off that solved it while it was acting up.
Now it doesn't matter, it's fine.

Sounds to me like the relays in the module are sticking.

Thanks.
