How do you drain the coolant from the block on a 05 Passat tdi? I remember the 2.8 had one on the after side of the block. Had drained the radiator and noticed the previous own had used the green stuff. Or is it ok to mix the green stuff with G12?

Yes, the 2.8 does have the block drain, in this one it does not. Do not mix the green stuff at all! I would flush a few times...

The places to flush are from the coolant tank, radiator hoses, oil cooler, and heater core. The loosely attach the hoses, run the engine, and flush again. http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/b5/coolant-flush-passat.htm Read the article to make sure you bleed the heater core correctly when done.
