Hello everyone,

I'm considering buying a 2003 VW Jetta GLI 2.8l V6. I test drove the car today and everything went smooth. However, my only concern is that it has a blinking light on the speedometer. The light looks like a car with a key under it. I did a little bit of research and it has something to do with the Immobilizer System I believe. The test drive went fine but I don't want to buy a car and then not be able to drive it because of a fault in the Immobilizer System. Any ideas of what it exactly is and possibly the cost to fix?

Thanks in advance.

How did you drive the car with the immobilizer light? You'd have to have the car scanned to know what the problem is. Worst case scenario, you need a new key, new instrument cluster, or new ECM. They're a pain to work with.
