Don't know about the newer cars, but... on the slightly older ones, the consensus is that you should save your money... the best "cold air intake" is the one on the car... (they did a test of air flow with no filter whatsoever and the stock VW filter, and there was no difference - meaning no improvement was possible...)

After market CAI's are a waste of money. If you are after "sound", sell your Dub and buy an older American V8 with Cherry Bomb mufflers. If you want to put a smile on your face, get a stage one chip tune If any of the tuners are offering them for your car.

Looking to put in a intake anyone have any suggestions to which one is the best and which one sounds the best?
I actually just joined this forum for intake troubles. I have done a ton of research and it seems like this was the only thing I found that could fit a MK7 tdi.

I own this part, tried working on it yesterday. Yet the black housing for the filter is too large to fit inside the space where the stock one was located. I can't decide if I just return it, or make some modifications. The CAI is completely dissembled, curious if I could install the CAI without that black housing.....
