2006 TDI (BRM) with DSG, Package 2 - 205,000 miles

I have put ~1000 miles on the 2006 TDI w/ DSG that I bought a couple of months ago. It had some codes for the HVAC system and MAF (due to a boost leak that I fixed), but that was about it since the previous owner must have cleared everything prior to sale. I now have a small list of codes, and while everything seems to work fine (or well enough), I'd like to see if I can eliminate the causes of the codes. There is really only one which seems like it might be serious, so I will list that first.

I have not been able to find much information about this one online, other than people experiencing failing mechatronics units or some sort of wiring issue. The only issue with the car's driving performance is that it will occasionally surge in 2nd gear and more rarely "hiccup" when shifting gears, usually in around-town situations where I am quickly changing between accelerating and decelerating. The G195 sensor is inside the transmission and accessing it or its wiring requires removal of the mechatronics unit, correct? Is there anything external that I can check, or some other issue which can manifest as this error?

I installed some OEM bi-xenon headlights with shutter control a week ago and modified the CECM coding according to the tutorial on here. On top of that I also re-coded the instrument cluster as British to get full 4 light high-beam functionality. The lights are working 100% properly. Is there some other setting somewhere that is tripping because it expects halogen low beams rather than HID ballasts?

EDIT: Apparently there is an XM tuner module installed in the car. Looks like I will be removing it since I do not plan to use XM radio.

Not sure what this means. It was there with the factory radio, which I swapped for a RCD-510 + 9w7 BT, and the code is has returned. What is it looking for which is either broken or missing?

I also upgraded the CAN gateway when I did the RCD-510 + 9w7 BT since I was not sure if I would run into battery drain issues. I listed all of the installed modules before removing the old gateway and selected the same ones with the new one. Any ideas here?

Occasionally the doors do not seem to lock/unlock properly. I'd say it is 10% of the time or less. Would this be a door wire harness thing, control modules, or something else? It seems suspicious that both front doors are having issues simultaneously.

I assume that the heating element burned out. Where I live it does not get cold, and it has not snowed in decades. Can I just remove the thing entirely, or at least just unplug it and remove it from the CAN gateway?

VAG Error Code: 17106/2228

EOBD II Error Code: P0722

Fault Location:
Transmission Output Speed Sensor (G195) - No Signal

Possible Cause:
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active.
Speedometer improper reading.
Possible shifting problems.

Wiring/Connector(s).
Water damage at connector.
Transmission Output Speed Sensor (G195) faulty.

Possible Solutions:
Check/Replace all faulty Wiring/Connector(s).
Check Transmission Output Speed Sensor (G195).
Read Measuring Value Blocks (MVB).

Special Notes:
When found in 4-Speed Automatic Transmission (01M) Transmissions:
Check for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for overlay wiring harnesses as mentioned on the 01M page.
The terminal connector(s) for the Transmission Output Speed Sensor (G195) and Vehicle Speed Sensor (G68) are the same and can be mixed up. This can give an "Implausible Signal". Verify sensors have the correct connector(s) using the wiring diagram and Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) mentioned on the 01M page.

When is the code detected?:
The output shaft speed sensor failed to provide a signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM) upon initial movement of vehicle.

Description:
The Vehicle Speed Sensor (G68) detects the revolution of the idler gear parking pawl lock gear and emits a pulse signal. The pulse signal is sent to the Transmission Control Module (TCM) which converts it into vehicle speed.

Fault Location:
Tuner not Enabled/Activated (Radio/Navigation Display Control Module (J503) Radio (J503)) - Intermittent

Possible Cause:
Digital Satellite Tuner in Demo Mode.

Digital Satellite Tuner not enabled.
XM/Sirius not activated.

Special Notes:
This fault code is only a note, it will disappear once the XM/Sirius Subscription is renewed.

VAG Error Code: 01044

Fault Location:
Control Module Incorrectly Coded - Intermittent

Possible Cause:
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active.
Reduced Functionality.

Control Module incorrectly either not coded or incorrectly coded.

Possible Solutions:
Check Gateway Installation List.
Check/Fix Control Module Coding.
See Vehicle Specific Diagnostic Procedures for Details.

Special Notes:
When found in CAN-Gateway:
On a Long Coded module, use the Gateway Installation List to check for unreachable or not registered control modules.
Then update the Gateway [Installation List] by altering the Gateway Coding manually.
On a Short Coded modules, refresh the original coding with the same value. For example, code it from 00006 -to- 00006 without making an actual change.
When found in VW New Beetle/Cabriolet (1C/1Y/9C): Comfort System, this may be a Bug in the Control Module Software that will be resolved by refreshing the Coding with the same Value as described above with the CAN Gateway example.
When found in Brake Electronics (MK60EC1) while the Coding is NOT all Zeros, check the [19-CAN Gateway] > [Coding - 07].
An incorrect LHD/RHD Configuration may cause this Fault Code.
When found in the VW Passat (3B) Gateway Controller: Vehicles built through January 2000, the Gateway Software did not take in account for the ABS Controller. This fault code should be ignored. New Software was implemented after February 2000 that eliminated this fault code, however the coding should not be changed to add the ABS controller.

Fault Location:
Heater Element for Auxiliary Heater (Z35) - Faulty/Defective

Possible Cause:
Auxiliary Heater not working.
Fault Code(s) cannot be cleared.

Wiring/Connector(s).
Heater Element for Auxiliary Heater (Z35) faulty.

Possible Solutions:
Check/Replace all faulty Wiring/Connector(s).
Read Measuring Value Blocks (MVB).
Check/Replace Heater Element for Auxiliary Heater (Z35).

Special Notes:
When found in Auxiliary Heater, this Fault Code often cannot be cleared. Usually this Code implies that the Heater Element (Z35) houses the Control Module this Fault Code is stored in, therefore the Heater Element may need to be replaced to fix this.
