Separated at birth? From the side, they have the same blacked out mid pillar and same rear cutline except one goes back and one goes forward. Same with the rear bumper. From the front, the front grille even has the same basic shape and if you put on passat headlights, it would look almost like a passat.

The interior is also way better than the new passat. I've owned a pontiac and it's interior was lousy even by standards then. A chevy actually looks better on the inside than a VW? It looks like it came out of an Audi!

Except for the front, I definitely see the resemblance! However, I have not bought a car from the big 3 in 10 years and since I rarely buy new cars anyways, probably won't for a while.

It's the taillights and the lip of the trunk that look similar on the back.

Other than the headlights and the grille, the fronts looks swappable.

The sides are not fair because every midsize four door sedan looks like that.

I don't think that's true, the jetta and 4 door golf don't look like that. It's got a somewhat buick-phaeton stretched sedan look. The front and rear overhangs are also very close. The rear and front look are very close. It's the trapezoidal grille and the hood line that meets the grille.

What about the new Ford Taurus? It looks sort of like the old Passat. The greenhouse and the shape of the headlights look very similar.

Hm...the front not so much, the back and the sides are right on. It's the wide trunk, white part in the taillights, and the lip on the end of the trunk.

The ford taurus and the passat look the same too but I've seen the ford taurus, it looks more beefy in the front from a different angle. From this angle, the round greenhouse and proportions are right on! They both have this "bubbly" look. In fact, the more I look at it, the more they look the same. If you switched the grille and headlights, most people won't be able to tell the difference.

Huh? The Ford Taurus doesn't look anything like the old passat. The taillights and grille are all wrong. It's the angle of the picture. If anything, the Taurus looks like an Audi A4 from the side. Same bubble dome, even the rear window is pointed instead of blunted like the Passat. Change the front headlights, bada bing!

Well in any case, you can look up an image of the Audi A4. The picture worked when I posted it but I guess the other site must have changed it.
