hello i have a 2003 vw with a 1.9 diesel it is temper mental it has been losin power and sometimes it feels as if the turbo will not work but if you stop and shut it off and restart it will be fine for a while then does it again any ideas thanks

Sounds like classic limp mode to me, it's something the ecu does if the turbo is out with cettain parameters, have a look through the faq.

yep, that's your car going into limp mode. it will limit your power input to protect it.

any check engine lights? have your car scanned by someone with a vag-com cable for codes. likely culprits are overboost conditions. check your vacuum lines and movement of the turbo actuator. that and everything in the FAQ's. good luck!
