Hey Guys,

I'm a porsche tech by trade, and have a 2006 Jetta TDI PD, and just replaced my cam and lifters.

Does anyone know how to set the timing on this motor. Its a first time for me.
I will need Timing belt, cam and crank marks, and then how to properly set the timing with the VAGCOM.

Thanks and much appreciated in advance.

see "how to adjust camshaft timing to fix rough idle" in this forum. 1000q DIY Mk 5. Sorry I'm not clever enough with computers to put up the direct link.

When you buy the timing belt, make sure to buy from a reputable vendor. There are places online where you can buy crap parts for suspiciously low prices.

Don't you have to drop the engine to do any work on the 911? The engine bay in VWs must be tons easier but you still have to remove the motor mount to get the timing belt and stuff off.
