You could try some ZDDP additive. This raises zinc but shortens catalyst life.

From what I understand, 5-40 should be better than 5-30 for these engines. Keep the engine revved at light load as described in the cam replacement article and it should keep oil pressure high and keep lots of splashing around the cam.

Thanks, let me know if it solved it. If you don't mind sharing, who is the cam vendor? Break in oil will help but if money is tight, I'd just go with some heavy weight oil. The car already has 240k, do you plan on driving it until 400k (many people do)?
