I wanted to install a boost gauge and an EGT ( Exhaust Gas Temperature ).... I was wondering if there is an easy way to do this. Can I get these information through the ECU? Has anyone done gauge installation? How was it done? I am a big diesel believer and my F250 PSD have been fitted with all Banks Power Stuff. I am currently waiting for the IQ for my JSW... At this point I am not comfortable driving it when summer hits. I wanted to protect the turbo by installing an EGT so i can monitor when to shut off the engine and not fry my bearings on the turbo. Any suggestion would be awesome!

I am a new member and am asking same question, very surprised other TDI owners have not asked about EGT's. However let me add this piece of information, my son in Los Gatos with a different vehilce and a aftermarket turbo is a true believer in trubo's on diesels and installed a digital EGT because he climbs a mountain 4,500 ft on the way home. He installe dhis in the exhaust manifold, center, and should me how useful it was and when to back off on the throttle as exhaust gas temp rose. From his experience I doubt you will burn up your TDI in California.

here is hoping others will start to post on EGT's.
