If anyone knows where to find cheap main crank bearings I would appreciate it. I am reading 038 561 abv and 038 591 acv stamped on the main crank bearings but ETKA shows 038105591am007 and 038105561am007 at $27 from worldimpex each half!

Is there a cheaper alternative part or cheaper source to buy these?

I am trying to fix an engine that had low oil pressure. By comparison, a full set of Jetta ALH bearings is $60.

1st vw parts is cheaper but shows the ETKA number as a set for the 1.9L 2005-2006 PD Jetta?

The lower are also marked SK (or KS) RA 5211, upper RA 5219. I assume the KS is Kolbenschmidt.

I don't know how to buy direct from a German supplier and need the parts soon.

After some investigating, the crank bearings were also used on the 2009 CEBA and 2007+ BRM engines. I'm not sure when they stopped BRM engine production but it's possible they switched to BHW bearings at the very end of BRM production. Depending on when the CEBA engine was built, they may have used BRM bearings at the very beginning of production. Later and most CEBA engines should also use BHW bearings.

I don't know what the physical difference is because I don't have the alternative bearing. The part numbers for the other bearing is VW 038 105 561 a 007 and 038 105 591 a 007. The difference is the A vs AM. It's also possible they have a different SK/KS number.
