I love our new TDI but all four doors automatically lock, almost immediately about 90% of the time, upon getting in and out of the car. The dealer insists this is standard though that is hard to confirm in looking through the voluminous car manual. Anyone else annoyed by this feature and if so is there a way to change the timer on this automatic door lock? Thanks.

The car should never lock when you get out of the car. If you quickly unlock the doors but don't open them within 30 seconds the car will relock itself. This is a feature to keep the car locked in case you accidentally press the unlock button. But it should never relock itself if you just get in and out. Does it make a difference if you start the car and drive or not?
