Hey all,

Working on a 99.5 Golf TDI. Auto trans.

Did a fluid change then moved back to change the dif oil and I'll be damned if I can find a drain or fill plug...

In my 02 B5.5 Passat the dif and trans shared oil but I thought on this one they were separate.

Am I missing something here or does this trans share also? If not does anyone have a pic they could post up of the drain/fill locations?

Yes I've read through all the damn "How To's" I could find and I also have access to Mitchel On Demand and nothing is shown :(

On your auto trans the diff gear oil and ATF are separate.

The manual says to remove the speedo drive to check the level and fill it. The top of the speedo drive gear has a step-down which serves as the min-max line. The car must be level. It looks like capacity is .75 liters (.8 quarts)

You suck it out. You can use a mity-vac type hand pump. VW calls it a lifetime fluid and doesn't specify a change interval or make a drain. If it's warm it will be easier to suck out.

If you look at the top of the differential you should see it. I don't have any auto trans pics sorry.
