Trying to swap the engine on a 2011 a3. Donor engine is a cbea from an 09 jetta.

Block casting is different at the thermostat housing... There is an extra hole in the 09 block for a coolant pipe exit...

I can't use the 2011 housing without blocking off the extra hole. Is there an easy solution that is cleaner than using the 09 housing and adding a tee elsewhere to tie in the missing top elbow connection?

This is a new forum layout with loads of bugs which have been reported in the new thread. There is no TDI Wiki at the moment or or original similes. It doesn't show the car spec/location or signature properly either
