If you look under the dashboard there are rubber gaskets where wiring and whatnot runs through. I haven't looked higher but there could be other gaskets higher up. The only concern is that you don't want water coming through so make sure to seal it or put in in a place where water will not be constantly splashing it.

There are some tips on running wiring through the firewall in the HID install writeup but there are no writeups on how to install a boost gauge (hint hint ;) step by step pictorials qualify for the writeup contest and more pics are always better than too few pics. You don't have to use the same gasket, I used that one because the wire was going to the CECM module. You can use another gasket depending on where your wiring is headed.

Look under the dashboard at the brake pedal area and the HID install article linked earlier for pics. You will see firewall pass through. As for tapping the boost, this can be done at any intake piping. Follow the intake pipe and look for good spots. Remove the pipe and drill. Clean so no debris goes into engine. Reinstall.
