2010 Jetta Check engine light

Yesterday I noticed the check engine light was still on after start. It remained on after several starts, engine ran fine. A couple of weeks ago I bought a Vag-Com and did a base line scan and had noticed that there was an intermittent engine fault that had occurred five times. When I scanned it today it showed that it had occurred six times. Here is the fault:
1 Fault Found:
005078 - Cylinder 3 Internal Pressure Sensor: Implausible Signal
P13D6 - 000 - - - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100000
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 6
Mileage: 4184 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2002.14.24
Time: 04:48:37

Freeze Frame:
RPM: 1449 /min
Speed: 6.0 km/h
Bin. Bits: 00001010
Absolute Pres.: 68.0 bar
(no units): 9.60
Ign. Timing: 0.0 °BTDC
(no units): 17.60

The check engine light did not return after the scan. I gave the car to the dealer and they noted the fault and are going to swap glow plugs between the cylinder with the fault and another to see if it follows the plug. Apparently the pressure sensor is integral with the glow plug. They sent me off in a loaner.

Yep. I wonder how much the replacement cost would be if you weren't under warranty.
I hope they can replicate the fault since they sent you off in a loaner....and that you took all the change out of the tray!
The service tech drove it home and back and could not duplicate the fault. They had called me at 9:30 at night to get my permission. I was amazed to find out that this dealers service department has a second shift. I didn't have any change in the car but the SD card was still in the stereo when I got it back. They were ok with the fact that I had a Vag-Com, the counter person even asked how much I paid for it.
My engine light is on too. I took it into the dealership near my office here and they could not decode the fault code - it came out in German or something and then they said they didn't have the software version to fix it anyway - they had to update their vag-com and call VW tech support to diagnose it. Their solution: keep driving it, and I have been without issue. I'm going to take it back tomorrow.
Turns out mine is on because of a lazy O2 sensor. Some times it works and the light stays off, other days - notta. They're going to replace it next week when the part comes in.
I just purchased a 2010 Jetta TDI and after two days (200) miles, the check engine light came on. The dealer had to contact VW and they sent a new Oxygen sensor (rear) and installed it after keeping the car two days. Yesterday the light came back on (3 days later and at 450 miles) and the dealer has the car today and said there is a leak somewhere that is causing the light to come on. They say they will know more tomorrow. Anyone else had problems this quick with the new TDI Jetta's? Did I get a lemon or do you think this should be fixed without it being an on going problem?
It sounds like a bad sensor and a dealer who doesn't know how to fix it. Wait until after it's fixed and see how the car runs.
Mine was the rear sensor as well. Must be a more common problem.
I had a bad rear O2 sensor after 130 miles on my 2010. It took the dealer 2.5 days to fix .
No light again yet but I scanned my car the other day and found that the fault occurred two more times but now is the #2 cylinder sensor which is what the technician was hoping for since that is where the moved the original #3 plug to. They are going to change it out tomorrow.
My brand new 2010 Jetta TDI Sedan just popped up with a solid (not flashing) check engine light on the drive home tonight. 389 miles and this is happening already?! Hopefully it's something that is a simple and/or quick fix.

Any advice from the forum on what I should say to the dealer? The service manager told me to drop it off and they would give me a loaner car in the morning. Is there anything specific I should ask for like what error code is tripping to activate the light, etc?

Any help from the board is welcome!

Sincerely,
Ben

P.S. I was hoping my first post wasn't going to be about something negative on the car!
Ask what the error code is and post it here. If there's a common problem showing up it would be nice if people knew about it.
According to the Dealer it's the following:

code: 00315
reason: Diesel Fuel Particulate Filter fault

Any ideas what this means or what could cause this?

Thanks everyone!
I've heard that there were a few new TDI that were having fuel pump problems. This sent metal flakes into the filter. While there may be some wear on a brand new car it should never be visible to the naked eye. This is only a total guess of what could set this code.

I am not sure what would throw this code since the fuel filter doesn't have any sensors on it. If you find out please post it and let me know, it would really help.
I had a bad rear O2 sensor after 130 miles on my 2010. It took the dealer 2.5 days to fix .
How the heck does it take 2.5 days to fix a bad O2 sensor? Waiting for parts?
So the dealer called me this afternoon and said they ordered a new rear O2 sensor which VW in Germany told them was the culprit.

They are not 100% sure this is going to fix the problem so they are going to install it, let a tech drive it for 2 days and if the light doesn't come on get it back to me.

According to the dealer they have another new TDI in the shop with a "similar but different" problem.

It's nice that they gave me a loaner car from day one at least!
I've owned my '10 TDI for 10 days. At about 40 mi. the engine light came on. After two days at the dealer, they also replaced the o2 sensor. After driving about 40 mi., the light came on again. Back at the dealer for 4 days, repair to the exhaust system, they drove it, the light didn't come on. Picked it up, after driving about 40 mi, the light is on again. I've driven the car for a total of two days since I bought it, to the dealership and a few times to work. I now have 260 mi. It's back to the shop again. Let me know if they find your problem...

Luckily the O2 sensor fix did it for my car. I've driven it a couple hundred miles since the fix with no check engine light coming on.
tdi guy - took delivery on my 2010 jetta last night. got a check engine light on my way home. (approx 60 miles on the odo) dealer is telling me its a loose gas cap. i'll verify that when i get home tonight. what was your resolution?
