I really love the Mazda 3, it is a superb car.
The VW is a bit tighter suspension wise (read: rides more rough), a little less stable though from the short wheelbase. It's more powerful and better interior quality. There is a big difference in the cabin - the VW interior is leagues better, and that says a lot considering the Mazda interior is pretty good.
The Mazda definitely feels more nimble and peppy - even though it's slower. As well the seating position feels more sporty.
One place where the mazda wins hands down is interior cubby holes. There is significantly more room to put stuff.
The golf is a higher quality, and better car though. It has many more convenience features and it feels much more solid and better built.

While xenons would have been nice, it didn't matter enough to me to bother trying to find a car with them.
I have been enjoying the dynaudio system a lot. Since it's only a 300W system, it doesn't pack quite the punch of more upscale systems (my comparison is the bang&olufsen system in an Audi A5: and that system is just outstanding) but I've adjusted the sound options and I'm definitely glad I have it.

I really wish I could have traded the sunroof for some xenons. The sunroof is absolutely useless to me - and I would have saved $300.
It seems like the only way you can get dynaudio though is by having a sunroof. Which really sucked to me, but ended up being worthwhile with some haggling =P

Are there any replacement light bulbs for the stock headlamps? I turn on my brights any chance I can - the headlights are not the best.

Just got my new bluetooth 9w7, going to go visit chitty to use his vag com to get it working properly!
I have some photos on my phone of my stickers... need to somehow get those on my computer.
Put my 9w7 in on Saturday, went up to visit Chitty, ended up not wanting the Vag com changes anyway though! So, it was just plug and play. Visit the FAQ to see me modeling =P
