Why would they get rid of blue? That was a sexy color. White Gold? WTH is that? The first non jewelery related image on google for white gold is this:

They want a Jetta to look like THAT ^^^? The head unit looks cheap too. I also dislike bright screens at night.

Am I right in thinking that the sportwagen will be the next gen body since it has new sheetmetal, bumpers, and interior as listed above?

LOL! I am putting together a 2010 Golf and Jetta buyer's guide but that won't be in there. The point of the guide is to cut out the chit chat and get right to the point.

In the spirit of the developments, here is an article showing what's known so far about the differences in the 2010 Jetta wagon, sedan and 2010 Golf TDI.

Please put 2010 specific info in this thread, thank you. In the mean time, here's a photoshop of a GTI-sportwagen.

Added more notes and pictures.

Main point: it's not known if the sportwagen is built on an mk5 or mk6 body - it's definitely getting the mk6 look but the frame might still be the older one. Differences are listed in the above article. The jetta sedan is getting interior updates.

LOL! Big thumbs down since Laser blue is the best color. Black is too hard to keep clean and Gold is a Toyota Camry color.

In all truth, maybe white gold will look like a metallic tan?

Like the color of the guy's stretch pants. Maybe it will be OK.

So does this mean that the Jetta Sportwagen will be a different model?
Not yet known. Canadian sportwagens will now be Golfs which used to be Rabbits which used to be Golfs, which were always Golfs. Clear yet :)

White Gold is easy to find, just search new car inventories for a color sample. I just searched ebay and found this car - it's hard to tell because of the backlighting but it's just a white metallic color. It's actually pretty good.

Something is off about those colors, some look light green, some look like reflex silver, the other looks like wheat beige. The one that has the momentum sign looks the most correct.

Sorry, but is it official that the sportwagen looks like a golf? The list just says that it's getting a new front, not that it gets the golf front.

Someone else posted this on the vortex and it pretty much sums it up. Remember, it's going to be called the golf wagon in Canada.
With the MkIV, there were indeed a few exterior differences between the US Jetta wagen and the Euro Golf wagen (mostly the front, IIRC). Not so with the MkV. And with all the cost cutting, I doubt VW will introduce two versions. Except for certain legal considerations (bumper regulations, lights, whatnot), my guess is they will be identical.
