how do i reset new tensior on my timming belt ive set it with pin installed where pointer is algined but pull pin and it snaps back after it has been tighten

Are your tightening it clockwise? Is the nut loose? Is the tab inserted in the hole on the rear timing belt cover? Check that the belt is straight and true on the pulleys. If all that is fine, try tightening the nut a little bit more.

After you tighten it it should more or less still be pointed there. If you pull the wrench back the tensioner will also release. There are videos in the FAQ writeup showing how it moves.
