Hello -

First post on this board... I bought a 2006 Jetta TDI new (Fall '05), and I have been driving it ever since. Somewhere around 40,000 miles, I took it in for an idle vibration, and the dealer replaced the dual-mass flywheel. (This is a DSG auto.)

I have been using ELF Synthetic 506.01. For the last two changes, I switched to Mobil-1 TDT.

I am working on the timing belt change now. I took the valve cover off, and so far I cannot find any evidence of cam lobe or lifter damage. Once I get the new timing belt on, I'll be able to rotate the cam around for a closer look.

:thumbsup Hopefully you got a good one. The DSG flywheels are a weak point it seems, I don't know why VW fixed what wasn't broken...
