Hey all,

Im coming up on 100,000 miles since i replaced the original cam on my diesel to a colt cam. I have 250,000 miles on the car now.

I was just wondering how members are doing on their second or maybe third cams. Are people seeing any abnormal wear? Or need to replace another one?

thanks for any info. I would expect the Colt cam to last as long as the original, but who knows.

thanks all,

marcus

I am at 209,000 miles on my 06 Jetta tdi. It was replaced at 137,000. Still doing great. Although I do not drive as far as I use to. I hope it holds up for a long time.

Ha! I’m at 208,000 and cam went in my BRM at 150,000.

Just had to check records, I thought mine similar to yours.

So, perhaps 275-300k we’ll do it again?

Donutman, et al, are you running a tune?

I replaced my cam with a ESTAS brand from I.D.Parts. I use only Pentosin 5w 40. I am retired now. Car will probably never get to 250,000 Just sits in the garage. Rocker panels are really rusted out. Trying to find replacements . Not running a tune. Only replaced the original flywheel with a VR6 and clutch.
