Umm.. wish I could advise. Had a 2005 Passat my kids loved for mileage and power but I got scared of the balance shaft ./ Oil pump drive issue and traded at. About 140k. Have a 2006 TDI 5 speed package 2 from new and love it, had the normal lifter issue but at 154K better mileage than ever. Sister had a 2009 TDI Jetta and took the buy out. Good luck.
