I am new to the site, I have a 2005 Passat TDI 2.0. We have head the head reworked and the head gasket replaced. There is still a good amount of oil getting into the water. I would appreciate any insight that anyone might have into this issue. Thanks

The only other place they directly cross is the oil cooler. It's the thing under the oil filter housing. Otherwise there's still a problem with the HG or block/head. The turbo is oil cooled only.

Are you sure it's not from the radiator and you're seeing ATF?

Also, this post is pretty specific so moved to mk4 section.

2005 TDI Oil in Water

Thanks for the insight, We are apparently losing oil at the same rate the oil is appearing in the water. We have bypassed the oil cooler all together and still have the problem. The car is running great but we cannnot run it for long with this issue. Any other thoughts? Thanks

What happened to the engine to need the head reworked? Was the head put on by a reliable mechanic/friend who knows what they're doing? :)
