I have a problem with my Jetta TDI. While traveling out of state I left Motel in AM and noticed that Car had no power. I have had a CEL off and on for ever, but never the loss of power that I'm now experiencing. I took my Jetta to a dealership and the mechanic said it would take him possibly 2 days to trace down problem due to 5 trouble codes that come back after clearing each time. 16786 (P0402) Exhaust Gas Recirc Flow Excessive Detected Intermittent, 18027 (P1619) Glow Plug relay-J52 Open circuit/short circuit to ground Intermittent, 16629 (P0245) Turbo/Super Charger Wasteg Solonoid A Low Intermittent, 17849 (P1441) EGR vacuum regulator solonoid valve Open circuit/short circuit to ground Intermittent, 16600 (P0216) Injection Timing Control circuit Intermittent. Needless to say, I limped back home to Texas. I have limp repair kit on order and will post results when I install the parts. Anybody ever had this same problem?

The low power has nothing to do with the glow plugs.

Check ALL the vacuum lines. The car is over 10 years old by now and they will be cracked and dried out, probably more so in the South Texas heat. There could be other problems but the vac lines are one of the first things to check. Take a look in the FAQ section for the limp mode troubleshooting article and start working your way through it..

Also, post moved to the mk4 section since it's more technical in nature.
