I finely got around to changing the flywheel clutch kit in my golf. Thanks to this forum I was able to make sure I had all the tools I needed and a good step by step.It went well except I broke the speedometer sensor:eek: My mechanic wanted $800.00 for labor to do it so I am up $. Just lost some time.
I put in a smf and clutch kit. It seems good just a lower clutch peddle but I hear that is normal. Thanks again.

Cool, sounds good, how are the gears? Do you notice any difference with gear changes? Mine feel quite notchy and I think it's just wear on the clutch so it's on my to do list lol, that list just keeps getting bigger. Oh yeh, how about noise, is it any louder?:)

I drove the car about 150 miles today, some city some highway. I could not here the clutch at all when stopped and in gear or stopped with the transmission disengaged. Takeoff is very smooth and responsive. I changed the gear oil and used the royal purple stuff. The shifting is very smooth now it was stiff and a bit hard to get into fifth gear before. I am very happy with this work.
