I am doing rear pads, calipers, rotors on my car. I reviewed the article on brakes and calipers and liked it a lot. Thanks, whomever did it... I have a question... The rear calipers have a bracket that sits on the inside of the caliper and over a threaded stud which goes through and is linked to the piston movement in a circular and in and out action. My understanding is this is what makes the parking brake cable action work.... My question is, do I remove this bracket to turn in for a core exchange at the parts store, or will my rebuilt calipers have this bracket on them already??? thanks a lot... my TDI has 160K.. and original brakes and clutch.... brakes I am doing... clutch... not yet... no lift... just jackstands...
