100k Service mark for a B5.5 tdi passat

I am approaching 100k fast and I need some advice on what needs to be done to the car. So far I did nothing other then a recall for glow plugs and the regular maintenance.
I understand this is a big mark in the car life and I would like to know what are mandatory repairs and what is reccomended to be done. I plan on keeping this car for another 100k so I guess it is important to do it RIGHT. I love the car and I love the fact that I didn't spend a dime on repairs so far.
I would also welcome any mechanics reccomendations in my area. I'm willing to drive 100 miles to do the right thing.
Thanks,
Radu

The most important thing is to change timing belt, water pump, and all timing belt rollers/tensioners. Technically it's required at 80k, IIRC VW reduced it down from 100k. Here are some optional things, and when I say optional, I mean do them if you want your car to last another 100k with the absolute lowest possible chance of problems. Steps showing how to do all of these are in the B5 FAQ index.

Optional: change balance shaft module. This is suggested because it's a common failure point. Some believe every Passat will have this problem sooner or later. If it fails you get low/no oil pressure which requires engine repair. It makes sense to do it when the timing belt is done because the timing belt has to come off.

Optional: change ATF fluid. VW calls it lifetime fluid but it's not.

Check the outer CV boots for cracks. This is a 1 minute inspection.

Clean the sunroof drains at the corners of the sunroof and the windshield drains at the base of windshield behind the battery. You can use a hose to check for proper flow.

If you are willing to do basic maintenance, change the engine air filter (40,000) and fuel filter (20,000) if they are due.

Look through this common problem checklist: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/b5/vw-passat-TDI-buying-guide.htm and see what I might be missing.

1st time ever to post a forum. I purchased my 2005 Passat GLS TDI last year in may and I
really enjoy driving it.It's a sharp looking car with the front end cover and spash guards that
I put on it. I have 98,000 miles on it now and getting ready to buy the tools and parts needed
to change the timing belt. There's a lot of great information on this website that I enjoy reading.
Well anyway, glad to be a member.
Garry.

The US only got the mk4 VW Passat TDI in 2.0L PD engine 2004-2005. The B5 was 1998-2001. The B5.5 was the 2001.5-2005. Have any data on those :)
Well it lists

Passat (01-05) 1.9D TDI PD - Engine code AVB 100HP, AVF 130HP, AWX 130HP

Passat (01-05) 2.0D TDI PD - Engine code BGW 136HP, BHW 136HP

Passat (05-) 1.9D TDI PD - Engine code BLS 105HP, BKC 105HP, BXE 105HP

Passat (05-) 1.9D TDI PD BlueMotion - Engine code BLS 105HP

Passat (05-) 2.0D TDI CR - Engine code CBAB 140HP, CBBB 170HP, CBAA 136HP, CBAC 143HP, CBDC 110HP

Passat (05-) 2.0D TDI PD - Engine code BKP 140HP, BMR 170HP, BMA 136HP, BMP 140HP, BUZ 163HP, BVE 122HP, BWV 120HP

Then there is the

Passat CC (2008-10) 2.0D TDI CR - Engine code CBAB 140HP, CBBB 170HP, CBAA 136HP, CBAC 143HP

Take your pick. ;)

100 k on 05 Passat tdi

After I listen to multiple opinions I decided to do the following:
- timimg belt kit (belt, tensioners, water pump)
- Change chain tensioner on balance shaft module
- change ATF
- of course all the other regular fluidss/filters

Thank you for your input
Radu
