I have 06 tdi jetta ,had car since new, now has 112,000 miles, has had power surge at 2k rpm since about 50k miles. Problem goes away for the first 50 miles after oil/fuel filter change. I thought it might be a fuel pick up in the tank, I cleaned (70k miles)the filter screen in the tank and no difference. Egr started leaking at 80k miles so I plated it, with no change. Might it be the turbo waist gate? or maybe a catalytic converter? Fuel mpg's are at 37mpg and was 40-42 when new. Thanks for your help. Mike

Bang Bang

Hey thanks for the reply & info, the power on the low end sucks unless I'm driving to a funeral, after the 2k surge the power is nominal cruises around 80mph fine, the timing belt/water pump was changed at 90k, it is a dsg which was just serviced at 110k, but it could be a clutch is wearing thin? I don't think it's flashed any codes except for egr , maybe I'll fine someone(in Atlanta) that can retune.
