I've got a suspicion that my clutch is on its way out or just not adequate for my set up. Recently I added a Stage 2 Tune from Rocketchip and EGR Delete because of a clogged intake mainfold. Since installing the RC2 I've noticed the odd RPM spike between 2000 and 3000 when I put the pedal down. It started out fairly unnoticeable but now is quite noticeable if you try. There is no slipping noticed when shifing normally.

The real questions are the following:

1) What kind of clutch upgrade should I go to? Where is the best place to purchase? Price and customer service.

2) How much time is required by a shop to change it?

3) Is it something that can be done by myself? (I don't have a mechanics shop but do have most tools.)

Any other words of wisdom or advice would be appreciated.

I bought a stock clutch from bleached bora. It arrived on time. I can't comment on other clutch brands but it definitely sounds like it's slipping. Just remember that go too strong and it's hard on the rest of the system. The crankshaft thrust bearings are one spot which get more wear with a harder clutch. Here is an article on removing the clutch, time depends on what equipment you have and skill level. http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a4/transmission-removal-mk4.htm
