hey there, would anyone be able to tell me what the recommended governed speed range would be for the above named car??

And during a smoke test what would be the limit of rpm?

    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum. welcometomyturbodies

Well if you give us the engine code of your Golf I should be able to tell you the governed speed of the engine.

As regards the speed they do a smoke test for an MOT its full throttle, I hope you've changed your timing belt? ;)

No thats just the VIN number you need to look at the Options code sticker.

You should find the engine code and power on the Options sticker in the service schedule if you have one, the other half of that sticker should be on the boot floor next to the spare wheel well.

This engine code is BWA and 147Kw,

For the mot around 3000 there abouts is normal, if you mean in general I've seen the VE engines go way over 5000 with tuning.

Ok the standard ALH engine produces:

    66 kilowatts (90 PS; 89 bhp) @ 3,750 rpm; 210 newton metres (155 lbf·ft) @ 1,900 rpm — AGR, AHH, ALE, ALH.
