Lol, why not just go quad turbo and call it a day?
Rumors is the key word.
I would think 2 VNT turbos would be a lot less of a plumbing nightmare.
If the regular engine makes 286 hp and 413 lb-ft, some rough numcalcuatorering suggests that teh triple turbo at 350 hp makes 500 lb-ft
Plus a hybrid system? Yeah, this is a rumer.
Why 3 turbos? Because if the competitors get 2 turbos you can say you have one more. If they have 10, you turn it up to 11!
