I was on a seminar and DEF use came up, Some points to know include,
Store it in a cool dark place
It has a shelf life, so dont think you can store it for years
If you pour it in a funnel,, DO NOT use a black plastic or a metal one as def leeches oils etc out of them and attacks the metal also,
A tiny bit of oil will contaminate a large quantity of DEF, so clean a funnel spotlessly if its seen oil.

I was also told keep it topped up as other wise will cause one problems. Do not let it go till it gets to the point it is near the empty mark, reason being if one does this all the time the water in evaporates off making the strength too strong and will cause one problems. So keep any car or truck using it always topped up. Do not let the tank run down too low from full. That info was from some one who has seen the problem on many car and trucks. So for what it is worth there it is.
