    Bad news

Hi all, well just got back from Clive Atthowe Tuning in Norwich Norfolk top bloke for info ect and i have code P0234 which basically is overboost cannot be cured so a new turbo needed :panic: , he doesnt believe in fitting recon units as they will fail in a shorter distance and not worth cleaning pointless excercise , so he recommended a New turbo , got a price from German and Swedish £705 plus vat brand new jaw drops just for turbo not fitted he roughly quoted £1200 plus for turbo and fitting not good , if anyone knows where else to get a price for a new turbo im all ears

It could be the VNT actuator. However, VW doesn't sell these separately but you may be able to mod one on. It could also be sticky vanes. A new turbo should fix it but have you also looked at the innotec turbo cleaning kit? They are UK based. Worst case it doesn't work.

These newer turbos on the newer cars seem to bit a bit lacking and appear to break to easily, no idea what's gone wrong.:)

    update

Well my car has gone back to the garage I bought it from today and they are going to use the Innotec turbo cleaner first to see if it frees the sticky vanes at there cost , if that doent cure it they are going to stick a reconditioned turbo on it for me again at there cost :D well pleased as been quoted £1200 for this . I will report back as to what effect the turbo cleaner has and if it cures it ( they have lent me a crappy under powered hyundai 1.somthing uhhhh bloody horrible car ) I cant wait to get my vw back roll on monday .
