Ugh, I think I messed up my immobiliser on my Audi A4. I bought the car a few weeks ago. The Key FOB had been through the wash and was pretty ruined. The spring didn't really work to open the key either. So I ordered a cheap replacement FOB. I swapped the key & the electronics, but didn't know about the RFID chip. I tried to start the car and it would die after 1 second.

After reading more, I learned that the RFID chip needs to be within 1 inch of the ignition. So I put the old key back together, with the RFID chip in it, but now it doesn't work either! I think that since I tried a key w/o the RFID chip, it has locked me out. Now it won't work with the RFID.

Is there some way to get the immobiliser to unlock?

    thanks,

No, just have to wait. Read the immo FAQ and the mk5 key FAQ, very similar to your model.

Had similar issue with my Infiniti smart key, I put it in rice and a few days later was able to use it
