Recently I got into a fender bender on the right front corner of my car. After the body work was done I drove the car home. The next day after starting the car the COOLANT light came on. I continued to drive for another 5 minutes. Restarted the car and the light WAS NOT on again. So I ignored the first warning light. Anyway. I tried to start the car today, the clock started spinning backward and the dashboard lights lit up like a Christmas tree. The engine turned over 5 or 6 times and then started. I looked under the hood and the Coolant tank was empty! I put in the G12 coolant 2:1. Now the ENGINE light is on. I pushed the gas peddle down while in Neutral and the RPMs only went up to 2500 or so and no higher. HERE ARE MY QUESTION: Could a minor fender bender jolt something in the car to make this happen? Would low or no coolant (thanks to the body shop) make this happen? It seems like the batter is low or something. Why would the Engine light come on? THANKS FOR ANSWERING OR HELPING ME OUT. Ultimately I'm going to bring the car to a dealership but wanted to know if my insurance is going to cover this.
