2011 Audi A3 TDI, flashing glow plug light, CEL on and code P2101

    Hello,

    New to the forums, and need some help. My A3 is showing the glow plug light flashing on my dash and the check engine light is on. I pulled the code with an OBD II reader and I have P2101 coming up. The car still runs and drives fine. I can clear the code, all is well, but within a few days the lights and code are back. Most threads I have seen people have multiple codes or their car is in limp mode; not for me. Any ideas? Thanks.

    EOBD II Error Code: P2101

    Fault Location:
    Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) Motor - Range/Performance Problem/Malfunction

    Possible Cause:
    Wiring/Connector(s).
    Throttle actuator control (TAC) motor.

    Possible Solutions:
    Check/Replace all faulty Wiring/Connector(s).
    Read Measuring Value Blocks (MVB).

    Thank you. Is there a DIY or a FAQ related to this on what I'm looking for while trouble shooting? Just looking at the possible solutions I suppose I'm looking at the wiring harness connection to the throttle body (TAC I'm guessing), and maybe even removing and cleaning the TAC as well?

    I'm Owner 2.0 ALH VW TDI 2009;
    My Main issue is Limp mode= No moré than 3000 RPM & LOOSE power; on the cluster: Engine+Glow plus+Engine flashing,,,I will apareciste Your similar experieces on this case,,,Regards

    You don't say which model you have as the ALH is used in VW Bora, Caddy, Golf, New Beetle and Jetta.

    According to my spec the ALH is an old engine code which was first used in 10/97 Golf. The latest it was used was 03/10 in Skoda Octavia.

    So I'm still having flashing coil light and check engine light. Update is now that the DPF service indication is on now too. The car still runs and drives fine, plenty of power. I have a friend that has the Ross-Tech software and ran the codes, any chance someone could translate them?
