Good afternoon, I have been on the site for awhile just never created an account.
I have been dealing with the check engine light on my Golf for awhile now. There hasn't been any symptoms or issues that would make me not drive the vehicle.

As i looked up the generic code reader code, I found a tiguan tdi in europe with the same issue but appearantly not the same fix.
    Has any body ran into
P0472 - Exhaust back pressure sensor circuit low input.
    Or
P0471- Exhaust pressure Sensor 1 (g450): Implausible Signal.

    Thanks for any help

Haven't seen this prob before but the exhaust back pressure sensor is to operate the emissions. implausible signal usually means sensor is bad or has faulty wiring. This is a warranty job as well as long as you're not over the mileage.

Yeah I have 60k on the vehicle already, does any one have a vw part number for the sensor, I have searched 1stvwparts database and I only can get a description not a part number or a view od what sensor it could be.

Sorry I've just noticed its a 2010 Golf. Can't you get this replaced under warranty or has your mileage exceeded the upper limit?

I have hit 60k and the dealer is quick to respond to everything that isn't covered under the 6yr 100,000 mile warranty.

    Supposably sensors are not covered.

I assume you mean a 6yr 100,000 mile extended warranty plan?

We've talked about warranties on here before it appears in the US its 3 years or 36k. In the UK its 3 years or 60k so if you were over here then your just on the edge at 60k.

Sorry yes extended warranty, currently work is blocking every website with information on the topics.

Sadly I am in the states, I wish I was in the UK, or else where.

Purchased a second sensor this time 076906051b instead of 076906051a, light still persisted so dropped it off at the dealers, a friendly tech looked at it all day, they are keeping it for a second night hopefully i can get my baby back and enjoy the weekend with out a check engine light.

I will post up the fix once completed since its not the usual sensor issue.

Finally got my car back, Still researching what the dealer had replaced.

Car was showing p0472 -G450 sensor low voltage after a replacing this sensor on the left hand side of the motor and no results. Dealer tested wiring and ecu so on so fourth.

By day 7 dealer installed G505 sensor, which is the exact same part number as g450. I was told the sensor sits behind the head. I have yet to look for it or research this, The one VW illustration that I have only shows one Differential Pressure Sensor on the CJAA motor. If any one has a more detailed Illustrations, I would love to see them.

I posted this information just in case some one else runs into a similar issue.

So the fix was the G505 sensor? I assume the CEL stayed off after that.
I have a 2010 JSW MT with 75000 miles. Just got the P0472 code this weekend,
so I am researching the issue. Yours is the only post I found on the TDI sites with code P0472 and CJAA/CBEA motor. I am not getting any other codes, just this one.
How expensive (parts, labor) was the fix?
