06 jetta tdi 1.9 brm crankshaft seal surface

    I am in the progress of replacing the crankshaft front seal and you can see the original seal has grooved the shaft. Any ideas? Speedi sleeve or pull the crank and get polished?

    Oh yeah, that's a groove. I would pull it and get it polished...not too hard at this point. And it would prevent you having to do everything again.

    Thanks for your response. The rear main also has a groove just like the front. Do you have any recommendations of machine shops in the Houston area for VW work?
