new guy have a question on 09 jetta

I'm not familiar with the VW. I have to change the fuel filter. Will the 09 run the pump with key on and re-prime or is there something special I need to do. I am familiar with Ford diesel, but need to get up to speed on the Jetta. Thanks for your help.

will not run pump w/key.
