Default Lp?water?methanol?

has anyone on the forum experimented with the three adjunct fuels in their tdi? i've heard of people putting kits on their diesel pick-ups, but i haven't heard of anyone putting a system in a tdi. In other words, i'm looking for input before I go and do something silly.

I've seen the first two on TDI's. I'm sure someone's done meth as well, but I haven't seen it. Apart from LP in addition to the Diesel fuel, none of them provide any benefits unless you're specifically tuned for them.

I have always been interested but would have to do more research before going down that road.

In the Sept. issue of "Diesel World" page 32, there is an article on Snow Performance (water-methanol). This is being installed in a 1.9L 2001 Golf. Snow Performance has also installed this in either a 2010 or 2011 Jetta TDI that they own. Here is their web site link to a TDI. http://www.snowperformance.net/products.php?p_cat=306

I would like to install this in the wife's TDI but she has told me no mods to her car. She likes the idea of a clean diesel and getting an average of 33 MPG in city driving.

After reading what snow performance has to say, I think that once I get my glow plug problem resolved(priorities), I may invest in their MPG-MAX system. I realize my setup may not yield the same results, but 4 more mpg and 35 hp/ 40 lb. ft. with cooler egt's would be pretty sweet.

Its interesting to me how injecting water into the charge air doesn't spike cylinder pressures, and there aren't any reports of moisture in the engine oil. It must be such a fine amount that it vaporizes fairly easily.
