Angry INTERCOOLER FLUSH? Engine Oil...

I have a 1999 New Beetle TDI. What is the proper way to flush an intercooler that has been contaminated with engine oil, after Turbo Seals fail?

Take it to a machine shop that has an ultrasonic cleaner, have them clean it for you.
Something like this, http://www.ctgclean.com/grease-monkey.php

They work very well.

Good luck

That will get it very clean but it'll just get dirty again once you start running the engine. IMHO, flush with a hose and make sure any big debris is out. Then use some brake cleaner and swish it around. Much cheaper and clean enough. Don't forget to clean the intake hoses.

Not really a bad idea. The cost won't break the bank and you will know with certainty that you got all the old oil out.

As it turns out...the turbo only blew out the Exhaust Turbine & Seal. The Charged Air System was not contaminated. I replaced the turbo with one that I disassembled and cleaned. Now, after 3 months...I have a Mechanically Sound Vehicle. Thanks to a car that had every possible major problem, and this forum...I am currently a Certified Volkswagen TDI Genius!
