Default Injector and exhaust cleaners?

Was getting ready to replace the fuel filter on my jetta and thought i read some where that diesel purge was great for pooring into the filter bowl and cleaning out the injectors.
Well when calling around to every place i could think of people didn't know what the heck i was talking about. All most people had was Diesel Klean and some kind of exhaust cleaner.

What have you guys used and recommend?

Diesel Purge will indeed clean your injection pumps and nozzles, but it will also foul up your oil, which should be changed soon after...

That said, I wouldn't bother unless you have reason to believe you actually have problems... and you're not supposed to just dump it in the fuel filter... a proper purge would have the engine running from a dedicated container of pure Diesel Purge - with the return line from the engine emptying into the same container until you run out...

What you're probably thinking of is Power Service Diesel Clean that many people use to prime their filters...

Probably. Thought i read on here or somewhere else that it be a good idea to run some cleaner thru it at each filter change.

But if everyone else say its not needed other then suspecting a problem i wont do it.
Don't really want to change the oil after doing that not to long ago lol

Thanks
