Question Golf 140 dsg starts runs for 10sec then stops

Just bought myself a 07 140tdi golf estate the car had been accident damaged, nothing bad just bonnet bumper and headlights thats now repaired now.But when it was in the salvage yard all the diesel was taken out of the tank by cutting the plug of the pump in the tank striping the wires back to power the pump up to pump it out under the bonnet.I have sorted the wiring out but the car now starts runns for 10 secs then stops, you can hear the pump running in the tank when you switch on the ignition.thought it may be a imoboliser but I think it runs for too long for it to be that.Anyone got any thoughts ?

definitely not immobilizer, first thought is wiring or air leak in fuel line

I think the wiring is now sorted you can hear the fuel pump run when the ignition is switched on and there is deisel up to the fuel filter, dose the high pressure fuel pump need priming/bleeding in any way?
