5spd tranny swap. Alh to auh?
The tranny in my 2000 golf has gone to the pits. My question is that I've been told that a 5spd from a 2004 to 2006 pd auh will be a direct swap for my alh. Can any one confirm or deny this? And if anyone has one for sale I'm interested in buying one.

Direct swap no, will fit yes. The trans angle on the mk5 was tilted slightly and the gearing was slightly taller. Also, the speedo sensor was eliminated from diff so your speedo won't work.

Well, 04 MK4 is a MK4 chassis so the bottom line is that it has to be a MK4 chassis and TDI. As long as those two things are met, then it will work.
