There is no dipstick, it's checked by measuring level with engine lukewarm.

Will today went down bad drive way & bump a rock just right it loosen the bottom plug on transmission lose some fluid. Is their light that will come on if fluid is to low? If fluid runs out that bottom plug when you loosen it with engine off is the level Ok? Also I would like to put a Trailer Hitch on the Bettle to pull a Motorcycle Camping Trailer, trailer weight is 265# to 320# would have only two people in the car.Bettle is a 2005 TDI with DSG Tiptronic. Going try too call VW dealer tomorrow see if they give any information on checking the fluid level in transmission.
Thanks,
Green Bean

No, level must be checked with engine running and lukewarm. Too hot or too cold and level will not be right.

Trailer should be fine but I don't know the official limits of towing. The engine/transmission can handle it but of course, refer to your owners manual for the exact specs.
