Not terribly hard but you do need a few special tools.
HPFP is high pressure fuel pump, there have been a few cases where the pumps have been shedding AL which damages the rest of the fuel system. See here:

Make sure the dealer is using VW 507.00 spec engine oil, it's required to keep the DPF system from clogging with ash:
