Default Things I do NOT like about my new 2010 Jetta TDI

I have 12000 miles on the car. I am curious if these things have been addressed in the 2011 or 2012 models. I should say that these are all relatively minor items. The big things like handling and performance are very satisfying. Still, I am disappointed in these creature (dis)comforts:

The horn is VERY stiff and difficult to operate. It's not easy to give a friendly toot to someone you know. Additionally it seems that there is a very slight delay (is this a proxiity switch as opposed to a direct contact switch?) This is my number one complaint. I don't like it at all and I actually find it slightly dangerous because the need to honk can be an immediate urgent thing.

The trunk doesn't open all the way in cold weather. Seems that the pistons can't overcome the cool weather and push the trunk lid all the way up.

There is a slight bumpout on the floor near the seat. This is a spot that I like to put my left foot on long drives, so I am forced to move it over towards the center, which I find less comfortable.

After 8 months the (original) wiper blades are chattering. (Standard VW washer fluid.) Will this go away with new blade refills?

This is my first turbocharged engine but I'm surprised at the acceleration lag. It is pronounced.

There is no accessory position on the ignition switch. So, if I pull into a parking spot but I'm not ready to get out - for whatever reason, when I turn the car off, the radio/music goes off too. Now I have to turn the car back to the on position and the headlights come back on. So, if I put the handbrake on then lights go out - OK, but if I had the fan on, that comes back on too - now I have to turn that off also. Most cars have an accessory position.

The sun visors are small and I have had several times with a low sun at about the 2:00 position where I am unable to block the sun with the visors.

The sunroof rotary switch does not have a detent in the center fully closed position. With parallax, looking from the normal drivers position, it is difficult to tell if you have it in the right position. Obviously one can tell if it is open or not, but if you have had it open and you want to simply close it and forget it, you should be able to easily put the switch in the right position and know that you have closed it, rather than wait to see if it is properly closed.

The rotary knob for heating/cooling that sends the air to the desired spot: feet, windshield, torso, combo etc. Again, parallax from the drivers position, it is difficult to see where the knob is pointed or what the label indicates.

Ditto to your complaints. I have to put on my reading glasses to read the air direction icons. And you are right about the horn - it is small, hard to push, and no matter how hard you try it always gives an angry sounding blast. But I love the car anyhow.

I don't do friendly toots. If I'm ticked off enough to lean on the horn, I'm not going to notice things like that.

I also thought that was odd, until I found out that I could turn the radio (back) on by just pressing the on/off button. Everything is computerized now instead of being switched by the ignition switch.

100% in agreement about the knobs issue, I have to lean over to the middle of the car to really see, how hard was it to mark the things on the knob itself? Would have been much better

My other issue was with sunglasses holder, they ant hold sunglasses.
