My reverse light (back-up light) in my 2005 golf v tdi (DSG) is not working. I have checked the bulb and fuses and both fine. I want to check the reverse sensor...where is it located, on DSG gearbox in the engine compartment or is it situated on the gear lever? Thanks Piet |

With DSG I know there's a switch on the gear selector. Have you tried wiggling the plug and check for corrosion? Not sure if there's something inside the DSG transmission for the back up light but I'm sure there is for the actual reverse gear check.

Hi thanks. Had a look and the DSG gear lever and electronics look good. I guess there must be a sensor in the engine compartment?

Welcome to the forum Piet.
![]() You've checked the obvious bulbs and fuses and I've have posted links to different VW PDF sites. If you can find a wiring diagram online then great let use know? How to read VW Wiring Diagrams Its a matter of finding the switch on the gearbox or selector linkage. Car: vw golf v TDI You could add 2005 to your car spec?

Have you installed anything aftermarket? A euro switch or fogs or change anything in the ECM/BCM?
