Please excuse my ignorance. This is my first time here. I'm a newbee.. I am trying to replace my alternator but I can't find any information on how to do it. Does anyone else have this issue? Can you share some info? Thanks. Juan |

Wow, how many miles on the car? At 100K miles my 2006 A5 alternator is just fine. What leads you to believe the alternator is actually bad?
What ever you do, don't get a reman from Autozone or Shuck's. Pure garbage. What usually fails on these alternators is the 1 way clutch in the pulley or the regulator. Both witch are replaceable for less than a reman or new alternator. |

I have 76k miles on it. I have tested the battery and it tests good. I did a test on the alternator and it shows it as bad. I looked at the 1000 FA questions but there is nothing on the removal steps for my particular model.
